Come and checkout highlight for the Lions 2007-2008 Football Season “Go Lions”

Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Basketball Teams for an Outstanding Season and continued success in the playoffs. Below are a few words for the coaches.

Go Lions!!

This has been one of the most enjoyable seasons in my four years at BRHS. We have a great group of seniors (9 of them) and the team chemistry is great. We are 21 and 1 heading into the regional tournament next week and are on a 20 game winning streak with our last defeat coming at the hands of Dunseith on December 13th. Our regional opener is vs. Drake-Anamoose and we are confident we can win that.Our next matchup will probably be Berthold, a team we beat by 6 in double-overtime during the year, and by 10 in the district tournament. They are very good (and very young). The best team in the other bracket is probably Dunseith.

The 2007-08 basketball season was very exciting for the Lady Lions and first year coach Brent Nelson. This years team had a great group of   seniors, lead by All District, Region, and District 12 senior athlete of the year, Steph Brossart. Courtney Klein, Lacey Berentson, Kayla Nelson, Jen Kondos, Katie and Kristin Rubbelke. The Lady Lions went on to win the District 12 basketball championship for the first time since the State title team in '93! They also placed 3rd at the Region 6 tournament. They ended with a 17-8 record.

 As a first year head coach, I feel we had a very good year. We lost some close games and came together at the right time and won a District Championship, and 3rd place in the Region. I had a great group of girls to work with,  it made my transition from boys to girls basketball very easy. We have some hard working girls coming up in the program, and if they work as hard as this years seniors did, we will have a chance at winning more titles in the future. Thank you to all the BRHS fans that supported us this year!
